WHAT IS THE BASIS OF THE ALLERGY TEST?

People having an allergy develop a special type of antibody called Immunoglobulin E (IgE) which can react with natural environmental substances in the air or food. These substances are called allergens.

The most common allergens that cause an allergic reaction are house dust mites, animal dander, pollen, moulds and foods like peanuts, milk, wheat etc.

HOW TO PREVENT AN ALLERGIC REACTION?

Once you identify your allergy, you can:

    • Avoid exposure to the allergen.
    • Seek medical care if you’re exposed to the allergen.
    • Carry medications to treat anaphylaxis.

You may not be able to avoid an allergic reaction completely, but these steps can help you prevent future allergic reactions.
